The Stockau source is primarily a highlight for me because it involves a small incident: the search for a source that is drawn on an old map from 1910.

Spring / summer 2013
Shortly after moving to Rodgau, my husband discovered this source on the old map. Back then we went looking for it with two children. We almost wanted to give up when our visitor child discovered the source - totally grown. Above all, we remembered that the boy then had countless ticks on the body. Everything was forgotten at first.

June 2020
Recently, when we turned into the Stockauschneise, we discovered a new sign on two trees, a signpost to Stockau Born. I searched the Internet for information. Indeed

So that source had been gone for twenty years. In 2017, a hobby historian named Berker noticed this when there were pictures of this source. If we had known it, we would have pointed it out four years earlier. Doesn't matter, is still early enough, right?

The Stockau spring is mentioned in a book by Werner Stolzenberg. Title: "From the forest to the settlement - origin and life of the Rollwald settlement"
Quotation from the 1992 edition of the book: "The old Niederröder go into raptures when they think of the Rollwald. It was often the destination of a Sunday excursion, because before 1938 Rollwald was a forest, a beautiful mixed forest that was unparalleled in this area.
