The Rosenbrückerl near the Erzhausstraße overpass marks the confluence of the Spitzbach and the Rosenbach. It was 1996 on suggestion
built by Rosenberger citizens by former Maxhütte steel workers.
Spitzerbach and Rosenbach are the ones
the two largest rivers in the Sulzbach-Rosenberg area. The beginning
des Rosenbaches marks the one from the
Peutentalbach coming Peutentalbach (source
near Bernricht), located at Großalbershof
with the northwest of Röckenricht
originating from Klafferbach to Erlbach
united. The stream now bears the name
up to the inflow of the source stream from the
Fürstenquelle (Bahnhofstrasse) in Sulzbach.
From here on he calls himself Rosenbach. Of the
Peutental spring up to the confluence with the
Vils bei Altmannshof is the Rosenbach
approx.15.1 km long. The brook operated with
its hydroelectric power was once numerous mills,
flooded several fish ponds down to
Rosenberg and (with the water from the city spring) even the first private outdoor pool
Sulzbach, the former freight forwarder
and court gardener Johann Dotzler 1906/07
built and up to the early 1930s
Years of operation. Strong sources feed the
Rosenbach especially in the urban area.
The 2.2 km long Spitzerbach has its origin in the Rieglesbrunnen at
so-called base wood, about 500 m
northeast of today's B 85 at the level of
Rosenbrückerl
Entrance reason. Close to the "Ziegenleite"
Breitenbrunn becomes the Spitzerbach through
the clear waters of the "seven springs"
significantly reinforced. The former operated the
Bach three grinding mills, the Sörgel mill
(also called Obermühle or Zacherlmühle), the Fels- or Strobelmühle and the
Grinder. All three mills provided the
Operation in the first half of the 20th century. Rosenbach and Spitzerbach
took the clarified for decades
Pit and factory waste water from the Maxhütte
and their ore mines and had the
more often massive pollutant inputs
to cope with. Today both streams are valid
like once as good trout waters.
