The Ithklippen are part of one of the largest Kalkbuchen- and canyon forest areas in the natural area Weser and Leinebergland.
Many protectable and vulnerable plants and animals feel at home here. In the animal species, these are species such as eagle owl, red kite, gray-headed woodpecker and bats, among others. the great mouse ear, in the plants orchids, blue grass and various lichens. Especially in spring you will find on this section Larkspur and Anemone flowers.
The area is surrounded by numerous hiking trails, u.a. the Ith-Hils-Weg and the European long-distance hiking trail E11 (white cross on a black background).
The rocks, which are up to 35 meters high, can be climbed if they are specially marked. In this section you will find the Heidenstein, the Mönchsstein, the Klippenstein, the Nonnenstein, the Monastery wall, the double roof wall, the spider wall and the toad's head in one formation.
A little further south then in another formation, the Bisperoder tower, the Northern Bisperoder pulpit, the middle Bisperoder pulpit, the Bisperoder Bloc, the right barrier, the southern Bisperoder pulpit, the lighthouse, the Lochturmwächter, the guard base, the peace stone wall, the Cake, the Pharaonendach, the Trilofantenwand, the head and the Herbstsonnenwände be admired.
Between this formation and the Lauenstein is the "Dangerous Steig", which connects the Kammweg with a deeper hiking trail. The highlight marked here ends at the Lauenstein with the Ith Tower, which can be climbed free of charge at any time.
