The Neustadt gondola pond is at the end of Burgstrasse, from here you have a great view of Hohnstein Castle. The pond is wonderfully surrounded by Harz meadows, which, like the hiking trails, are very well maintained

Very beautiful pond with a path all around it. From the terrace built into the water you have a great view of the fountain and the castle above.

A totally beautiful lake with lots of seating and a playground next door. There is even a kiosk there, but it was closed when the October weather was beautiful

very nice excursion destination, lots of places to sit around, there is also a playground and a kiosk next door.. was very well booked when the weather was nice...
from there you also have a beautiful view of the Hohenstein castle ruins

This small reservoir was created in the middle of the 18th century to hold water in the coal mining industry. After it was closed around 1870, tourism began to develop in Neustadt.
The 0.8 hectare gondola pond also took on a new function as a destination and place to relax. With its idyllic location below the Hohnstein castle ruins, it invites young and old to hike and explore. A circular path with numerous seating areas invites you to linger, discover and observe. A children's playground, a pedal boat or rowing boat rental and the "Zum fröhlichen Karpfen" kiosk ensure a pleasant stay.

Beautiful pond to rest your legs. Fish, ducks and beautiful scenery. When the weather is good, a kiosk is open and there is a playground for children.
