This tour counts as a day tour for me to the most beautiful mountain hiking tours from Obergurgl. It is quite exhausting and requires very good mountain hiking boots and possibly mountain hiking poles. The more difficult spots on the ascent to the Hochwildehaus are very well secured with steps and iron ropes, so that the risk of accidents is greatly minimized. In order to make the return trip on one day, you have to start in the morning between 9.00 and 10.00 o'clock in order to be able to come back at the starting point in Obergurgl in the evening at 17.00-19.00, depending on the speed. It is recommended to take the cable car up to the middle station for the first route to avoid this less attractive ascent at the beginning of the tour. Mountain vacationers I recommend, this tour not at the beginning of your stay in Tyrol, but only 1-2 weeks with small and medium tours to the required level of fitness to bring. Upstairs in the Deer house, a nice host is waiting for you. The view of the glacier landscape is unique. In 2016, the hut was unfortunately closed, because the building must be renovated by the receding permafrost in the statics. It is recommended to see if it will be re-opened in 2017.
