“The Wolfshagener Park was created at the beginning of the 19th century according to plans by Peter Joseph Lenné, including existing buildings that were still to be built, so the village was part of the park. A series of originally planned visual axes can be experienced again today. [...]

In the 19th century, Wolfshagen, under Count Hermann von Schwerin (1776–1858), received its distinctive townscape with the landscape park designed by Peter Joseph Lenné. By the end of the 19th century, not only representative buildings had been built, but also numerous agricultural workers' cates. This contrasting building ensemble was preserved until the end of the Second World War. In the last weeks of the war, the Wolfshagen castle, which the Wehrmacht used as a camp, was destroyed. The park has been preserved and is now a dendrological and garden art treasure. ”
