A visit to the bison in Fredeburg is a special nature experience, especially then. when the herd has had offspring from little calves that are exuberantly conquering their world.
Bisons are the largest land mammals in Europe that almost went extinct many years ago! The district hunters give them a new home with the district forestry operations.
Take your time and draw strength from encountering these unique animals. It's worth it, especially a detour into the beautiful surroundings.
The enclosure is right on the side of the road and there is no entrance fee. You can just walk past it and watch the impressive bison.

The large and free car park at the wisent enclosure is also an ideal starting point for tours in the area.
