Without question - the city's most extraordinary cinema. The 1963 DDR premiere cinema enchants you with its elegant charm, impressive architecture and magnificent acoustics in the only (and huge) cinema hall. Even if you do not watch a movie, you can go to the bar on the first floor, have a coffee there, admire the wood paneling and look down through the picture windows at Karl-Marx-Allee. Apart from that, here are the best films in town.

The Yorck Cinema Group exclusively shows selected arthouse films in all independent cinemas in the city. If you like to watch movies in their original sound and feel comfortable in old vintage theaters, you will love the films of the Yorck Group. A special tip is the Kino International, in the east of Berlin, which was built in 1963 and specifically represents the style of this time. In the summer of 1958, the Greater Berlin magistrate approved the second construction phase on Stalinallee between Strausberger Platz and Alexanderplatz, using a modern, functional prefab construction method.
A cinema with a library and a club was planned9, backed by the ten-story Hotel Berolina, accompanied by the Cafe Moscow restaurant and the mocha-milk ice-cream bar, and easily accessible from the 1930 underground station.

Even today, the solitary, self-contained architecture of the cinema is an eye-catcher: Free-standing and staged against the background of the former Hotel Berolina, it attracts attention with its design, its material and the lively play of colors of light and dark. The design clearly indicates its function as a cinema and hardly gives it away.
