In Bad Wünnenberg there are 6 brothers' beeches which is already a landmark in the Wünnenberg Forest. But here there are many beech trees from one trunk or grown right next to each other.

The nature reserve Sauerbachtal Bülheim is located in the district of Paderborn.
It includes part of the Sauer valley in the southern part of the Bülheimer Heide.
It has existed since 1938 and is 56.96 ha in size.
The Sauer meanders through the valley.
A near-natural alder swamp forest determines the area near the water.
At the southern edge of the valley there are swamps and moors, partly in the form of birch moor forests.
A larger, but mostly dry moor area is located on the edge of the nature reserve near Gut Bülheim.
Away from the water, old beech stands indicate a medieval Hudewald, otherwise the forest areas are dominated by spruce.
Protection goals are the preservation and restoration of the creek with its distinct underwater vegetation, the wet and damp grassland fallow land, the boggy headwaters and the alder-ash floodplain forest and birch moor forest that accompany the creek, as well as the small sedge reeds, wet heathland, tall herb meadows, the heather vegetation and the willow beeches.
Bird species worthy of protection according to the Habitats Directive and Bird Protection Directive were identified as: red-backed shrike, red kite, black woodpecker and black stork.
There are also 42 Bronze Age burial mounds in the area.
