The new building of the palace ... More like a stumbling block than an occasion for joy for many Potsdamers: inside. Mostly not wanted, but achieved through a clever vote.
For cyclists: inside and pedestrians: inside dangerous place: no clear demarcation, too narrow and poorly visible passage, intersecting paths, especially over the tram tracks in the direction of Breite Straße.
The inside of the building is more modern and functional with a historicizing facade.
With the exception of the canteen, only the inner courtyard is open to the public.

Brandenburg state parliament in the city palace
The Brandenburg State Parliament (Krajny sejm Bramborska in Lower Sorbian) is the parliament of the state of Brandenburg and has its seat in the City Palace in the state capital of Potsdam. The deputies are elected for five years, so that after the election in 2019 the next one will take place in 2024.
The first Brandenburg state parliament was elected in 1946 in the Soviet occupation zone. The composition of the second state parliament was fixed before the election in 1950 and only existed until 1952. It has existed in its current form since the state of Brandenburg was formed in the course of reunification. Since the first state elections in October 1990, the SPD has been the strongest force, has always been involved in the state government and provides the prime ministers. Dietmar Woidke has held this office since August 28, 2013.
