The park and the Hercules monument are landmarks of Kassel. The size of the park is enormous, and the Hercules monument is no exception. Anyone who wants to climb the Hercules monument from the park should be a good walker. After all, you have to climb stairs to the monument. There is of course a place to stop for refreshments, but it is a good 220 meters up. There is also a fee to climb the Hercules (but that only applies to the Hercules itself), the path and everything else in the park is free.

The Hercules is the landmark of Kassel and crowns the
Bergpark at a height of 530 meters with a unique view over the city of Kassel and the surrounding area.

Since 1717, Kassel's landmark has stood on the summit of the Karlsberg, 530 m above the city. The building is the crowning glory of the 1.5 kilometer long cascade system. A steep pyramid rises on an octagon with a viewing platform, crowned by the monumental Hercules statue. The entire building reaches a height of 71 meters and from the viewing platform you have a wonderful view of the entire baroque park, the city and the low mountain ranges. Data of the figure:
