The Steinhöfer waterfall is an artificially created basalt quarry 60 m wide. This waterfall was built by Landgrave Wilhelm IX. commissioned in 1785. Unlike the other water features, this waterfall is fed from the Drusel. This also had the advantage of allowing the Drusel to flow off in a more controlled manner via artificial ditches, since it has a very large gradient. The waterfall was popularly known as the Steinhöfer Wasserfall after Karl Steinhofer, the well inspector at the time.
