The Château de Raeren is a magnificent building surrounded by a moat. In the 15th century it was one of the most important pottery centers and today houses the Pottery Museum.

Raeren Castle and the adjacent "Raeren House" are actually more of a fortified residential complex than a castle. Both probably arose from an inheritance division in the 14th century. The oldest part of Raeren lies around it, where the earliest potteries were also established.
