The special thing about this lake is the location. There are many stories about this area. One of them is that of the Epprather Werewolf, who was active in the Middle Ages and was caught nearby. In addition, here some national tourist trails lead past. There are also prepared running routes that lead past the path. The historic town of Alt-Kaster is definitely worth a visit. If you still have some time, you can also include the Kasterer Höhe in the hike. Near the lake is also a very nice children's playground. Very nice for the little ones to have a break there.

Easy, leisurely hiking trail. If you hike on the west side of the lake you have a wonderful view of the lake. The east side is wooded. During the week we were the only guests in Alt-Kaster. Nice medieval place. For the stay with a hike around the lake (approx. 2.5 km), a leisurely stop should be planned for 3 hours
