the Carreau du Temple is a cultural and sporting place dedicated to lifestyles and new urban uses. It is based on a mixed public-private economy unprecedented at this level in the capital.

Former covered market of the nineteenth century, the Carreau du Temple was saved from demolition by citizen mobilization. The new vocation of this emblematic place in the 3rd arrondissement was therefore decided by a local initiative referendum: a space for all, combining culture, sport and events.

Inaugurated on April 25, 2014, the Carreau du Temple hosts more than 50 associations and 40 major cultural, sporting and lifestyle events, and offers an eclectic artistic program, made up of highlights and regular events.
