city Hall
The town hall of Emden, like most of the city, was a victim of the bombs; it was on November 6, 1944. But the citizens of Emden rebuilt it between 1959 and 1962. The "old" town hall was built between 1574 and 1576.

The reopening took place on September 6, 2005 after extensive renovation and renovation between 2003 and 2005.
Nowadays the East Frisian State Museum is located in the building.
The museum ships are located in front of the town hall in the Ratsdelft canal, opposite the Otto Museum and next to it the city's tourist office. Brückstrasse, a pedestrian zone with numerous shops and restaurants, begins behind the building.
A carillon sounds from the tower of the house every day at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.

After almost complete destruction by the air raids on Emden in World War II, it was rebuilt in modern forms, some elements of the previous building were taken up. Parts of the ground floor masonry were included. The reopening took place on September 6, 1962, exactly 18 years after the destruction in which almost the entire old town was destroyed by Allied bombers.
