    Traben-Trarbach is a twin town on the Middle Moselle and lies on the one hand at the head of a narrow Moselle loop and on the other hand at the foot of the Moselle loop mountain Mont Royal. And since there is hardly a larger town on the Moselle without a castle, the ruins of the Grevenburg tower over the district of Trarbach, rewarding the visitor with a magnificent view.
    The town of Traben-Trarbach was once the second largest wine trading center in Europe after Bordeaux. The reason for this exceptional position was the great demand for Riesling wines and the exports, especially to Great Britain and overseas. This resulted in the founding of over 100 wine companies and made Traben-Trarbach a very prosperous town. The areas of the Traben-Trarbacher Unterwelt are correspondingly large, which have been expanded into a mystical network of vaults, some of which have two floors and are more than 100 m long. Today, this underworld invites you to a variety of experiences. A special highlight here is certainly the annual Moselle wine night market, which takes place in the vaulted cellars and is an unforgettable, atmospheric experience.

      Traben-Trarbach, the jewel on the Middle Moselle in the Bernkastel-Wittlich district, Rhineland-Palatinate.

      Traben-Trarbach was once a busy wine trader and the town became rich at the turn of the century.

      The large wine cellars and the large and magnificent Art Nouveau villas still bear witness to this today. These cellars can be visited on guided tours.

      The town actually consists of two parts, Traben and Trarbach, which are connected by a bridge.
