The Old Town Hall is one of the city's most beautiful half-timbered buildings and stands directly on Borgiasplatz next to the city parish church. It was built in 1531 and served as the seat of the city council, council chamber, and trading center until 1782. Its Gothic turrets, imposing gable, and lovingly restored half-timbered facade are particularly striking.

After a controversial partial reconstruction in the 1960s and further renovation in 2014, the building now shines in its historic splendor once again—with modern shops inside and a Madonna statue as an eye-catcher.
