"The Rheinpreußen 4 mine is a former hard coal mine in Moers.
The 48 m high double strut structure of Shaft IV is visible from afar. It is considered to be the oldest scaffolding of this type in the Ruhr area and is an important monument of industrial architecture. One of the oldest electric hoisting machines in the Ruhr area is located in the adjacent machine house. Since the renovation, the building has been looked after by the Grafschafter Museum and History Association in Moers ... "

Story:
1900 Devastation begins as shaft 4 of the Rheinpreußen colliery.
1904 Start of production in the shaft.
1907 The shaft becomes a weather shaft.
1962 Production in the shaft is stopped.
1963 The shaft becomes a weather shaft.
1971 Through the association of the Rheinpreußen and Pattberg / Rhineland collieries, the shaft becomes part of the new Rhineland colliery.
1991 The shaft is filled.
