The Baerler Busch, together with the Rheinpreußen dump, the Lohheider See and the Reitwegesee, form a recreational area of over six hundred hectares in the north of Duisburg. The regional association Ruhr acquired the Baerler Busch in January 2006, it is about 320 hectares in size.

More typical are sandy soils and acidic oak forest communities. Beech and pine trees also occur in significant proportions. At the southern edge of the forest area is the scenic forest lake, which was created through gravel and sand mining. The Baerler Busch is criss-crossed with an extensive network of cycling and hiking trails, making it ideal for walking, jogging and cycling. There is also an extensive system of bridle paths.

A very beautiful forest area for walking or hiking. The Loheidersee and Waldsee lakes, or rather the 42, border the area.
Located on the way to the Geleucht (lighthouse).
Highly recommended.
