Momochihama Beach is a 1-km-long artificial stretch of beach at the foot of Fukuoka Tower. In the middle of the beach is Marizon, an artificial island with restaurants, shops, a wedding hall and a ferry terminal connecting to Uminonakamichi Seaside Park via Hakata Bay.
Momochi Beach Park by the sea is an approximately 2.5 km long, man-made beach park with white sand, which is oriented towards Hakata Bay. The Fukuoka Tower (the tallest tower by the sea in Japan) rises with its modern cityscape as a landmark along the water front, while the Marizon (a shopping center in the middle of the park by the sea) houses restaurants and a water sports shop. The park is gaining popularity as a recreation area in the heart of the city. During the holidays, many water sports enthusiasts, families and couples visit the park.
