A beautiful piece of earth

No more cake: Landcafé Mözen has closed This is what it's about: Drinking coffee with homemade cake - that's what the café in Mözen was known for. This is what happened: But after the winter break, the oven will remain cold. Homemade cakes and sheet cakes will no longer be available, at least not for sale in the café. The Wittenborn Heath was a military training area for a long time, so the area was never used intensively for agriculture until 2009. As a result, the soil remained largely nutrient-poor and is now covered with beautiful heathland.

Beautiful...the nature, the birds, we even saw a fox. Now the foxgloves are blooming...just great.

At Forellenhof Mözen you can buy delicious smoked trout, but also ready-made dishes, stocks and more. The farm is situated in picturesque surroundings on Lake Mözen.

The nature reserve Wittenborner Heide and the military training area remind me a bit of the Höltigbaum in Rahlstedt. Except that it is a bit flatter and more spacious here. I had a lot more fun driving through the NSG with the gravel bike than with the racing bike. Friendly country café with delicious cakes. The seating areas are spread out over the spacious courtyard and if you're lucky you'll find a shady spot. Unfortunately the outside furniture is a bit of a mishmash and has seen better days. It spoils the impression of a cute country café and makes it not quite as cozy as it could be. Nevertheless, the service is very friendly and the cake is delicious! It's worth a visit.
