The Stocksee with an eagle and several campers is shown on this beautiful transformer box. There is a campsite by the lake in the immediate vicinity of the box. The eagle refers to the sea eagles circling more and more frequently over the lakes of Schleswig-Holstein. The coat of arms of Stocksee is depicted on the side. Above you can see two tree stumps, which stand for the "stock" part of the name. The bundle of corns in the upper center symbolizes the importance of agriculture for the community, which consists of the village of Stocksee and the Stockseehof estate. Below is the second part of the name of the municipality and the lake with the wave cut and the blue color. The dugout refers to a find from the late Middle Ages that was discovered during excavations in Stocksee in 1985.

The nature reserve "Islands in the Great Plön Lake and Störland Peninsula" covers an area of 261 hectares. Under protection since the beginning of 1993, it has been looked after by NABU Plön since 1998. The nature reserve offers water and reed birds migration, breeding and resting opportunities. The sea eagle Haliaetus albicilla can be found here as a breeding bird. In the forests of the islands, golden-eye ducks Bucephala clangula and goosanders Mergus merganser also breed in tree hollows. The islands are also safe breeding and moulting grounds for greylag geese Anser anser as well as various species of ducks. The Great Plön Lake is the most important breeding water in the country. In summer and early autumn, large flocks of ducks and grebes change their feathers on the lake. The extensive shallow water zones, the wind protection provided by the islands and the relatively low intensity of disturbance make the NSG the most attractive area of the lake for water birds.

Is perhaps something special for those interested in geology: there are many fragments of flint and intact flint nodules lying around here. The whitish nodules are relatively easy to break open, and then the flint comes out.
