Building essentially from the 12th century, apart from the choir and the bell tower which were built in the 17th century. It is here that the writer Alain-Fournier carried out his solemn communion and he evokes it in his novel 'Le Grand Meaulnes'.

Home-school which saw Henri Alain-Fournier grow up from the age of 5 to 12, his father having been appointed director of this boys' school in 1891. He drew his inspiration from this place to write his novel 'Le Grand Meaulnes'. Today, this building has become a school museum, restored as in the time of Alain-Fournier, it is both a tribute to the writer but also a faithful representation of what a school was under the 3rd republic.

The Burgruine Herisson are the ruins of a medieval castle located in the village of Hérisson. You can explore the remains of the fortress, which dates from the 11th century and was destroyed by Cardinal Mazarin in 1652. You can also enjoy the view of the Aumance river and the surrounding countryside, as well as the charming architecture of the village . This place is an excellent starting or ending point for your run.
