Originally, Lake Liez was called “Lecey dyke”. This is linked to the digging of the Marne-Saône canal. The Liez dam is 490 meters long and 16 meters high. It is the largest of the four feeding lakes of the upper reach of the canal between Champagne and Burgundy.

From this panoramic viewpoint, you can enjoy nature and the view of the Seine-Maritime. It is located on a hill near the village of Serqueux. From here you can admire the landscape of fields, forests and villages, as well as the distant hills. The Serqueux belvedere is an ideal place to take a short break during your run.

The Saint-Blaise church is a 12th century Catholic church which has undergone several modifications over the centuries. You can admire the original portal, the nave and the transept, as well as the 18th century bell tower and the 19th century apse. The church also houses remarkable sculptures and paintings, such as the polychrome wooden statue of Saint Blaise, patron saint of throat patients.

You can walk along the shore of the first of the three pools, dedicated to nature and water activities. You will enjoy the views of the lake and the village, and you may spot some of the migratory birds that frequent this preserved space. The Lac de Charmes circuit is an excellent option for your running.

From Champigny Bay, you can admire the view of the water, forest and wildlife all along the route.

Lac de la Liez beach is a sandy beach which offers a beautiful view of the lake and the dam. You can swim in the lake when the green flag is raised, which means the water quality and safety are good. The beach also has a solarium, volleyball court, playground and picnic area. A first aid station and toilets will make your task easier. The beach is open from June to September, from 1:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
