The forest café “Altes Forsthaus” in Heide is an idyllic café, hidden in the Heider Kreistannen and offers a perfect mix of peace, nature and culinary enjoyment. Known for its homemade cakes and coffee specialties, the café attracts both locals and visitors. The products are prepared fresh and seasonally every day, which is reflected in the high quality of the food on offer. The café offers 40 seats indoors and many more outside, some of which are covered. This cozy atmosphere makes it an ideal place to relax after a walk in the forest. The fresh waffles with ice cream and hot cherries are particularly popular, as are the diverse cakes and tarts, such as rhubarb meringue cake, Black Forest cherry cake and the homemade Bienenstich. In addition to the café operation, the forest café is also a popular event location. Events such as musical readings, live concerts and art exhibitions are regularly organized. The café also offers rooms for private parties, weddings and corporate events and can be individually designed according to the guests' wishes.

Note: Unfortunately, card payments are not possible here. The idyllic café in the middle of the Heider Kreistannen is a popular destination for cycling groups and walkers. Seasonally adapted exhibitions by local photographers and artists also allow art lovers to linger in the rustic, cozy ambience of the café.
