Eutropius, 1st bishop of Saintes, and martyr, converted many people in the poor districts of Saintes, including Eustelle, the governor's daughter. Hilary was, in the middle of the 4th century, the first bishop of Poitiers known with certainty and one of the great Christian authors. Exiled for having defended the Trinitarian faith in a Gaul acquired to Arianism, he wrote his most famous work, the De Trinitate, and returned from the East to end his days in Poitiers in 367 or 368. Well the name of the pass is probably correct but it is not about the Alps! The climb contains a segment at 10%.

Very nice experience on a road bike, the hills are quite steep on both sides (~ 7%). There is a small parking lot at this place to land.
