Houssaye Castle

Excellent view of the Chateau de Passy! Passy-mal! 🤣

For over forty years, every late summer, Villevallier has celebrated its Patron Saint in its pretty little church decorated for the occasion with vegetables, fruits and flowers from its gardeners, generously brought for this eagerly awaited and carefully prepared mass.

The leisure center in Villeneuve sur Yonne is an ideal place to practice many outdoor activities. You can walk around these ponds and enjoy the flora and fauna, as well as the Yonne River itself.

This 17th century castle in the Louis XIII style served as a military hospital during the First World War. It then became a summer camp until its final incarnation as private residential property.

The Porte de Sens is one of the two gates (the other being the Porte de Joigny) which formed part of the defenses of the city. They now house museums of prehistory and regional archaeology.

Buried in the forest, this castle is hidden and surrounded by trees. It's a real treat to look for this place and not be able to spot it from afar - little adventure.

In the middle of the forest, you will find at this intersection a menhir 1.3 meters high with this plan.
