The church is a single-nave, neo-Gothic building made of quarry stone dating from 1887, built on the medieval remains of an original structure. The interior furnishings, including the altar, pulpit, pews, and organ loft, all date from 1893. The oldest part of the church is the substructure of the west tower, which dates back to the 12th century. A princely crypt dating from 1575 is located beneath the east aisle. regulates shipping traffic on the Saale federal waterway and is located in the center of Bernburg, very close to Bernburg Castle. The historic lock was built between 1935 and 1938 and is operated and maintained by the Magdeburg Waterways and Shipping Authority.

A very nice resting place located on an old arm of the Saale.

I practiced running for a triathlon on this section. The distance can be extended as much as you like; the only other kilometer-long section is the beautiful Saale Cycle Path. The surface is good. However, you have to watch out for cyclists on the tight bends.
