On the one hand, there is a lot to see for those interested in the battlefields of the First World War, and on the other hand, the nature here is very worth seeing, the beautiful sandstone cliffs of a former coast with rock inclusions and much more.

A little further away you can still find the old canal and locks with lock houses. I have added 2 or 3 pictures.

This bridge is a real challenge with a touring bike loaded with a lot of luggage and cannot be managed by women without courageous help. What a joke it is that it is "easy to cross"!!!

Very beautiful overall views of the lake from the dam, especially in autumn. Beautiful view also of the rear of the dam with the Vosges in the background. The adjoining parking lot allows you to start the hike from this point as well. Under a large shelter next to it, information on large panels tells the history of the dam.

EDF dam built in the 1980s. The lake supplies the Meurthe then the Moselle in order to compensate for the water needs of the Cattenom power station.
