A surprising and unusual location where a canal crosses over a river. The view is surprising and offers a beautiful panorama.

The Nancy Junction Canal is a canal that connects the Marne-Rhine Canal and the Vosges Canal. It begins in Messein, in Meurthe-et-Moselle, passes through Richardménil, Ludres, and Fléville, and arrives at Laneuveville-devant-Nancy at lock 46. A pleasant walk away from any traffic.

Along the Vosges Canal, you can discover the importance of the Vosges' industrial heritage. You'll also notice how nature is gradually reclaiming its rights.

The Forteresse de Châtel-sur-Moselle was one of the largest fortresses in Europe. It covered five hectares, had twenty-two towers and 1.4 km of ramparts, three floors with galleries and underground rooms. There is a small museum there that documents all of this. There wasn't really much to see on the site itself, as much of it was cordoned off.

The canal bridge allows the waters of the Vosges Canal (or Eastern Canal) to cross the Moselle which flows below. The building extends over 160 meters. It rests on 10 arches and was built in 1880. The canal bridge offers a lovely view of the Moselle and its meanders.
