The Ossuary of Douaumont is an impressive memorial that holds the remains of more than 130,000 unknown French and German soldiers who died during the Battle of Verdun (1916). The museum is one of many memorials around Verdun. We visited several bunkers, the ossuary and the museum in a round of about 20 km. Was also very interesting for our son (13 years old) and better than any history lesson.
