Due to impairment of stability on the steep slope, in 1974 the Rittersturzhotel was abandoned and demolished. Today the memorial reminds of the historical place.

Formerly stood here the Rittersturzhotel as conference place and Ausflugslokal. Today, the Knights fall is also a memorial. The then 11 prime ministers of the FRG emphasized the importance of German unity here in July 1948.
