The building is also a listed building and its western wall is directly connected to the 800 meter long Altenkirchen city wall.

The half-timbered house of the Privileged Pharmacy was built between 1728 and 1739 by a Major Fabry and its western wall is directly connected to the city wall. The building houses the Privileged Pharmacy, one of the oldest and most traditional pharmacies in the Westerwald. In its more than 300-year history, this pharmacy has been run by more than 22 owners and managers.
