The memorial stone below the observation tower commemorates the first men's choir of the Grand Duchy of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, "Arion" (Arion = mythical singer of antiquity), founded in 1829. The choir often met on the small platform at the edge of Behmshöhe for singing events and folk festivals. On the occasion of the choir's 100th anniversary, this boulder from the Fünfeichen field was ceremoniously erected here. The inscription reads: Arion 1829 - 1929 Free in song, always German and faithful. November 29, 1929

A must-visit for anyone in the area. Visiting this place is like visiting a museum. Everything is just like it was 30 years ago. The taste of the ice cream, the decor, the reasonable prices... even the ladies behind the counter haven't changed ;-) ...

Not just a large stone, but a boulder that was once brought to this place by the glaciers. If you look more closely, you will see a weathered inscription that calls the stone the "King of the Centuries". It is one of the largest boulders in the North German lowlands. The stone has a circumference of around 15 metres and a volume of around 35 m³.

To mark the 110th anniversary of the construction of the observation tower, the Neubrandenburg city coat of arms was placed above the tower portal in 2015 on the initiative of the Neubrandenburg Hiking Friends. https://www.neubrandenburg.de/index.php?ModID=7&FID=2751.6181.1&object=tx%7C2751.6181.1 Climbing the tower, which is worthwhile because of the view over Lake Tollensee, is possible every day from April to mid-November.
