Right next to it grows an old, remarkable oak tree. It's an interesting site.

At approximately 80 meters high, the cliffs in the Weser Uplands are unique. But they are not only special from a geological perspective. They are home to true survivalists from the fungal and plant kingdoms. The lichens that live on the rocks – hybrids of fungi and algae – in particular, make the area valuable for nature conservation. The cliffs also offer a unique experience: From the Weser Skywalk, there is a magnificent view of the Weser Valley and the canopy of the adjacent "primeval forest."

Here the men's choir has created a nice little place on the edge of the forest with a view of Schönhagen.

The adventure forest in Schönhagen was created as a project as part of Expo 2000 in Hanover and is therefore already a few years old. Nevertheless, the facility is both well-maintained and popular. And you can see that a lot of passion and creativity went into it. Some of the stations, such as the earth cave and the forest laboratory, are only accessible as part of a guided tour. You should probably do one in spring or summer. With its half-timbered houses, the small forest town is a great photo opportunity and can be easily reached via several hiking trails.

The adventure forest in Schönhagen is a fantastic destination, there is so much to discover here, the highlight is the climate tower with its great view. It is located directly on the Weserberglandweg, but can of course also be reached via many other beautiful paths. If you only have time for a short tour, you can also park there for free.
