Gemert Castle is one of the village's most striking historical buildings. The complex dates back to the 13th century and was owned for centuries by the Teutonic Order, which had its commandery here. Stapelen Castle is over 700 years old and still contains many original features. The exact date of its construction is unknown, but the oldest mention dates from 1293.
