The Grote Markt is the central square of the city of Bergen op Zoom. It is a historic and lively square surrounded by historic buildings. Here you can see the town hall, the St. Gertrude Church, and several characteristic houses. The square is full of cozy cafés, restaurants, and terraces where you can enjoy a bite to eat and a drink. The Grote Markt is also the venue for numerous events and festivals throughout the year, including musical performances, markets, and cultural festivities.

Closed during the school holidays! Yesterday, August 3rd, so closed. I really don't understand it. I understand everyone has the right to a holiday, but with good intentions, this can be planned differently.

The water tower in Steenbergen was built in 1950 and was designed by architect Jacques Hurks. The tower has a height of 40.65 meters and has one water reservoir of 600 m3. The tower is made of brick and concrete. Source Wikipedia

The artwork on the roundabout of the N259 consists of three silhouettes of striking buildings in Steenbergen; such as the Gummarus Church, the Reformed Church and the Water Tower. The foundation piles of the artwork form a vault in which the DNA of the city will be stored for fifty years. The idea is that it will be opened during the celebration of 800 years of Steenbergen. LuxImprove, together with artist Hans Hanssen and steelsmith Peter van Meel, has managed to create a beautiful end result, which comes to life during the evening hours.
