Landgoed Vilsteren is a living landscape where nature, agriculture and history come together with Huis Vilsteren as the core of the centre. On this estate time seems to have stood still and you can visit farms, but also a village that lies in the middle of it.

Pass under the rhododendrons and then up the stairs. Then you run into the hermitage. At Christmas there is the living nativity scene. You have to buy tickets for that.

In the 19th century a Zwolle merchant bought Den Aalhorst. Under the influence of Romanticism, he had this English garden built. A park with winding paths, water features and something that looks like an ice cellar.

Here you walk on a historic Koningsweg. Next to two benches you will find an information board that tells you more about the history of this road.
