The forest area is always worth a detour, but you are rarely alone here! So my tip: Avoid the main paths when the weather is nice and on weekends in general!

The memorial in the Tiergarten park near the Lüneburg train station commemorates a mass grave of 256 concentration camp prisoners whose transport from a subcamp of the Neuengamme concentration camp in Wilhelmshaven was bombed on April 7, 1945. It is not the Jewish cemetery, but the memorial site for the concentration camp prisoners killed at Lüneburg train station.
