To visit the Oude Kerk, you have to pay an entrance fee. There are combination tickets that allow you access to both the Oude Kerk and the Nieuwe Kerk. Did you know that the bell tower of the Oude Kerk is leaning? From ground level to the spire, the difference is almost 2 meters. Incidentally, unlike the Nieuwe Kerk, the tower of the Oude Kerk is "not" open to visitors. We were impressed by the large, colorful, light-filled windows in this church, which, by the way, is still used as a place of worship on weekends and holidays.

Delft's "Old Church" impressed us most with its meter-high stained-glass windows. It seems as if the church has more windows than walls. The nave hosts rotating exhibitions. As far as we know, the church tower is "not" accessible for climbing. By the way, there's a fee for admission!

Bridge closed again On the website of the province of South Holland We are carrying out maintenance on the Kandelaar Bridge from Monday, June 16, to Monday, September 1, 2025. The Tram Bridge over the Vlaardingervaart canal near Schipluiden is a bicycle bridge. Steam trams of the Westland Steam Tramway Company (WSM) used to run here, transporting vegetables from the Westland region to Delft. Between 1912 and 1932, passengers were also transported. After the war, diesel locomotives were used. The WSM tram line was closed in 1968. The bridge has been used as a bicycle bridge since 1974 and is an important link in the cycle routes of Midden-Delfland. The Tram Bridge has been a national monument since 2001.
