Woman Vennemolen. This mill is located on the edge of our beautiful village of Oud Ade. The mill runs regularly and can still be used as a pumping station. When the mill is running, the mill can also be visited. This option is also available for groups, but it is useful to contact us in advance. The mill is in great shape again! 2019-02-18 Major maintenance was carried out on the mill in the summer and autumn of 2018. First, just before the summer holidays, the short and long sprout beams were dismantled and replaced. These beams dated from 1963 and had rotted in quite a few places. The short and long struts were also in bad condition, so these have also been replaced. All in all it has been a big job, especially because all kinds of smaller defects appeared when replacing the large beams. The result is impressive: the mill can withstand it for a few more years. Then the painter went to work. The mill was painted in 2011, but the state of the paintwork was already bad. The painters spent weeks working on an aerial platform to really paint all parts thoroughly. The historical color scheme has also been taken into account. The colors have been brought back to the state of 1958. This is the year that the mill was removed from the drainage system. At that time the wheel was white, with red hoops and green handles. Later it was painted exactly the other way around. Also where the blades disappear in the shaft head, the color has changed from black to white. This creates a white cross in the middle of the blades. And so it was.
