This is a good place to take a break and enjoy the view of Merenberg Castle.

🛡️ Merenberg's Western Tower Gate. A true piece of the Middle Ages! The imposing tower gate bears witness to the former city fortifications and leads directly into the historic heart of Merenberg. Anyone who steps through this gate can literally feel the breath of past centuries. Perfect for a brief pause, a photo, or a quick detour to the nearby castle ruins. 🏰 Tip: Particularly atmospheric in the evenings!

There's also a nice little shelter here for a break. 👋🏼

Perfect trails – varied in the forest. Running meet-ups were always on Wednesdays at 4:00 PM in winter and 6:00 PM in summer. Various routes are possible. 🤘🏻

New signs, a wonderful spot that you can easily incorporate into your run or bike ride.

In August 2022 the gate was scaffolded. Renovation! Behind it is a nice little alley with half-timbered houses.

Great visual object with interesting information board unfortunately the only thing you can see. If you then go in the direction of the tumulus field, it is very difficult to see it at all.
