This half-timbered house was built shortly after 1660 and likely replaced an earlier building that was severely damaged in the fire on Lahnstrasse in 1643. In the 18th century, the building belonged to the Chamber Court Prosecutor Sachs, who hosted "public winter festivities, namely masked balls and concerts" here.
