Fremington Quay, located along the Tarka Trail, offers stunning panoramic views of the River Taw. Once a bustling port handling goods from across the globe, it is now a perfect spot to begin your journey or take a well-deserved rest. The old railway line, originally built for transporting goods, now forms part of the scenic Tarka Trail.

Charming former fishing village where the rivers Taw and Torridge meet. Sandy beach and attractive waterfront with cafes.

The free parking along the road is only for 1hr with no return for 1hr go at 17:01

So what exactly would be the highlight?

Great spot to stop for a brew and a cake.

Now a cycling centre with bikes for hire.

Fabulous little cafe just off the Tarka Trail and C2C routes. Great cakes, super friendly and plenty of bike parking. Ended up here after attempting to go into John’s Deli in Instow and encountering rudeness, extremely expensive and pretentious cafe offerings and no real seating options. Highly recommend the very slight detour to the beach car park for this cracking little cafe, also situated just across the road from the public toilets. Apparently open 7 days a week til 1800.

Beautiful spot and a great walk plenty to see and do. I will be visiting again.
