The official Isental cycle path runs alternately over the neighboring chain of hills or directly in the valley. But there are also options between Ampfing and Dorfen only to stay in the valley if you follow the dirt roads. These are usually easy to drive on, except when it is very wet. Then there are sections of mud here and there.

The beautiful monastery complex in Zangberg dates back to the year 1000. She has seen many changes throughout history. During the Second World War they wanted to build an ammunition factory here, and the corresponding forced laborers have already been shipped there. In 1946 the sisters were able to move in again. Today the building complex has several functions, in addition to the monastery operations, concerts are held in two magnificent halls.

I have probably never been there during the "rush hour", but I drive the route regularly and find that you can really let it go there. Board life and straight - perfect for a fast ride. In addition, it is the best route if you want to avoid Ampfing.

For technology lovers, a trip to Ampfing Airfield is worthwhile. The road goes right through and you are close to the action. With a little luck you can catch a glimpse of the classic cars that are at home here. A T-28, an Antonow 2 biplane, ... However, you cannot cycle briskly on the route, here the day trippers meet at the weekend and the path is full of walkers / drivers.
