In the 14th century the monastery was quite wealthy and was able to complete the church in 1501. In 1556 there were only 3 monks left in St. Vitus and the abbot was deposed. In 1802 the monastery was self-dissolved and taken over by the women's monastery Sankt Anna from Munich.
