Ascent to the Roque Nublo Plateau Roque Nublo is one of Gran Canaria's most significant natural monuments. A giant that rises to an altitude of approximately 1,800 meters in the center of the island, within a natural landscape protected by a biosphere reserve. This impressive rock monolith—a symbol of Gran Canaria—rises 80 meters from the plateau and offers a uniquely expansive panoramic view; only a few mountains on the island can match it. On clear days, the neighboring volcano, the famous Teide, is clearly visible.

For me, this is an average S1 trail. Jumps appear suddenly, with significant gaps between them. There's also broken glass and other trash lying around. Not ideal. I found the trail layout tricky in places. I'd recommend bringing a spare inner tube because of the sharp rocks. Otherwise, it's awesome to be able to ride such a long trail here.

Unfortunately, you're not allowed to take a bike on the trail to Roque Nublo. But the view is great.

Take pruning shears. From bottom to top it is certainly not easy and with all that reed it is impossible.

Some of the cycle paths in Maspalomas are really well laid out and developed. Unfortunately, they often end in the middle of nowhere - and where there are no cycle paths, continuing your journey can be quite complicated. Let's hope that the cycle path network will be expanded.
