The Neckarzimmern Lock is a significant facility on the Neckar River in Baden-Württemberg. It was completed in 1935 as part of the canalization of the Neckar River 1 2. The lock consists of two chambers and has a lifting height of 5.60 meters 1 2. The facility also includes a hydroelectric power plant that operates year-round. The weir bridge spanning the lock is part of the Neckar Valley Cycle Path and is used by both cyclists and pedestrians.

The facility was originally built in the 1930s and later modernized to optimize lock operation and energy generation. A special highlight is the lock and weir bridge, which offers wonderful views of the Neckar River and the surrounding area. However, you should be free from vertigo, as the bridge is made of gratings that allow you to look directly into the depths.
