Beautiful fountain in the small Elzpark

The historic Mosbach Power Station, opened in 1900, resembles a small castle with its sandstone building and tower. Today, it is the headquarters of the Mosbach municipal utility company, which provides electricity, gas, water, and heat to the region.

The Elz flows along the city park and offers many opportunities for relaxation. It flows into the Neckar in Neckarelz.

The small fountain temple in the city park is the only reminder of Mosbach's early efforts to produce its own salt with a graduation tower. The discovery of the brine spring in 1755 was followed by various attempts to use it, from the saltworks to the health spring, and even the idea of developing Mosbach into a spa town. The half-timbered town of Mosbach never became a spa town. However, since 1953, anyone can take brine water from the little brine spring. There is also a Kneipp facility next to the spring for cooling off during a walk.

The Neckarzimmern Lock is a significant facility on the Neckar River in Baden-Württemberg. It was completed in 1935 as part of the canalization of the Neckar River 1 2. The lock consists of two chambers and has a lifting height of 5.60 meters 1 2. The facility also includes a hydroelectric power plant that operates year-round. The weir bridge spanning the lock is part of the Neckar Valley Cycle Path and is used by both cyclists and pedestrians.

The Oberbachmühle in Mosbach is a historic building that once served as a mill on the commercial canal. It is one of a total of 14 mills that existed in and around Mosbach, underscoring the importance of water for the town. After its original use, the Bachmühle was later used as a waterworks and construction yard. In 1997, it was restored and converted into an eco-center and a restaurant with a summer terrace.

The Elz, a picturesque river, flows through Mosbach, lending the town and its parks a special atmosphere. The Great Elz Park, in particular, located directly on the river, offers a beautiful backdrop for strolls and relaxation.
